General information
Lightness’s purpose is to facilitate public conversation. Violence, harassment and other such behaviors discourage people from expressing themselves and lead to the impoverishment of the global public conversation. We have established our own rules to allow everyone to participate in the public conversation freely and safely.
Safety
Violence: You cannot threaten to use violence against an individual or group of people. Glorification of violence is also prohibited behavior. To learn more, read our policy on threats of violence and glorification of violence.
Terrorism / Violent Extremism: You cannot threaten or promote acts of terrorism or violent extremism. Find out more.
Child Sexual Exploitation: We have a zero tolerance policy towards child sexual exploitation on Destiny Lights. Find out more.
Abuse / Harassment: You cannot harass someone or incite others to do so. This includes wishing or expressing the hope that someone will suffer physical harm. Find out more.
Conduct that Incites Hate: You may not promote violence against other people, threaten or harass them on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, class, sexual orientation, gender, sexual identity, religion, age, disability, or serious illness. Find out more.
Self-harm and suicide: You cannot promote or encourage self-harm or suicide. Find out more.
Sensitive, explicitly violent or adult content: You may not post or share excessively gory, violent or adult content, either in videos or in profile or header images. You may not post or share any content that displays sexual assault and / or violence. Find out more.
Illegal or regulated goods and services: You may not use our services for illegal purposes or to support illegal activities. This includes the sale, purchase and trade of illegal or regulated goods and services. Find out more.
Privacy
Private Information: You may not post or share private information relating to other people (such as telephone number and address) without their explicit permission. It is also forbidden to threaten to disclose private information or to incentivize others to do so.
Non-consensual nudity: You may not post or share a person’s intimate photos or videos made or distributed without their consent.
Authenticity
Platform manipulation and spam: You cannot use Lightness’s services to artificially amplify or suppress information, or engage in behavior that manipulates or disturbs the user experience.
Civic Integrity: You can’t use Lightness’s services to interfere with or manipulate elections, and the same goes for other citizen engagement tools. Also prohibited is the posting or sharing of content that could inhibit participation or mislead people about when, where or how to participate in a citizen engagement tool.
Impersonation: You may not impersonate individuals, organizations or groups with the aim of deceiving, confusing or deceiving other people (or in such a way as to produce these effects).
Artificial and manipulated content: You may not deceptively share artificial or manipulated media content that could cause harm. In addition, we may flag Lanterns that include artificial and manipulated content to help users recognize its authenticity, as well as to provide additional information.
Copyrights and Trademarks: You cannot infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights and trademarks. To find out more, read our trademark policy and copyright policy.
Third Party Advertising in Video Content
You may not post, post or display video content that includes third party advertising, such as sponsored images or pre-roll video ads, on or through our services without our prior consent.
